Father Sergius Halvorsen received his BA in Biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and his MDiv from St. Vladimir's Seminary.  In 2002 he received his PhD from Drew University in Liturgical Studies and Homiletics.  He has taught at St. Tikhon's Seminary and St. Vladimir's Seminary, and presently he teaches homiletics and patristics at Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell CT. 

He is an accomplished liturgical musician and has contributed to several recordings of Orthodox Liturgical Music.  He has written a number of articles, and is the Orthodox contributor to Preaching at the Double Feast which was recently published by Liturgical Press.  Since his ordination, Fr. Sergius has served at parishes in New Jersey and Connecticut, and is presently attached at Christ the Savior Orthodox Church (OCA) in Southbury, CT.  He lives in Middletown CT with his wife Dina and their three children.
