Volunteer Application Process

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at St. Mary’s Cathedral.  The information here is designed to inform volunteers of the application background process at St. Mary’s and provide the necessary documents and resources to complete the background process.

 Here's a summary of the volunteer application process:

1. Membership Requirement: Volunteers must be members of St. Mary's Cathedral for at least six months.
2. Application Submission: Volunteers fill out a Volunteer Application and submit it to the clergy.
3. Interview and Reference Checks: Clergy will conduct an interview and perform reference checks.
4. Background Check & Training: Volunteers will undergo a background check and complete training through a company called Protect My Ministries. Instructions will be sent via an email link from mobilizemyministries.
5. Policy Review and Acknowledgement: Volunteers must review and sign acknowledgement forms for two key policies:
• Abbreviated Policies, Standards, and Procedures of the Orthodox Church in America on Sexual Misconduct
• St. Mary’s Policy on Child and Youth Abuse Prevention Program
